In a recent search and rescue operation, a firefighter’s life was saved thanks to the rapid response triggered by Raveon Technologies’ Atlas PT personal radio tracker.

During an active fire response, a firefighter became disoriented inside a low-visibility structure and was rendered incapacitated after a fall. With no immediate way to call for help, seconds quickly became critical.

That’s when the Atlas PT stepped in.

Equipped with an integrated “Man Down” feature, the device automatically detected that the firefighter’s radio had shifted into a horizontal position—an indicator of a potential emergency. Within moments, the system triggered an automatic distress signal, alerting the rest of the team that a firefighter was down.

Man-down alert systems are specifically designed to detect lack of motion or abnormal positioning and automatically notify responders, even if the user is unable to press a button.

The Atlas PT transmitted the alert across the network, providing immediate awareness to the fire crew. Responders were able to quickly locate the firefighter and initiate rescue procedures without delay.
